My love of movement began at the age of 5 when I took my first dance class. For the next 15 years, and all through college, I focused on dancing ballet, jazz and modern. While pursuing my degree in Psychology, I started to realize how a commitment to exercise and movement involves much more than just physical motivation. In addition to my workouts at the gym, I discovered that yoga was a perfect marriage of toning both body and mind. This led to my current philosophy that optimal health is best achieved holistically; we must exercise our minds as much as our bodies.

I have learned many lessons about fitness from many different sources; some I keep, some I discard. The main objective of my fitness passion has always remained the same: to set specific goals, achieve them, and in doing so, perform more efficiently in whatever the sport or situation is. The summation of these experiences and a love of teaching have led to a firm philosophy about fitness training and ultimately the foundation of “Applied Movement.”
